Mr. Steele's woodworking students had some holiday fun and a little competition racing sleds today.
Ready to get into the holiday spirit? Join our Middle School and High School choir students at 7:00 PM this evening in the high school auditorium for some festive music as they present their winter choir concert. These kids make beautiful music together! The choirs are under the direction of Mrs. Tami Brush.

The forecast for tomorrow morning is for gusting winds and frosty wind chills. We will close schools if wind chills are sustained at -20 degrees or worse. Currently, the National Weather Service forecast is calling for wind chills near or just below 0 degrees.
The weather will be cold!! Please make sure students are properly bundled up for the weather, especially those who wait at bus stops for transportation.
At this time, the forecast indicates that we will attend school tomorrow. Please be on the lookout for information about school closures should conditions worsen overnight and forecasts change.
All Watervliet Public Schools will be OPEN on Friday, December 6, 2024. Bus pick-up times may be slightly delayed as drivers will be driving with all necessary caution.

Due to high winds and icy road conditions, all Watervliet Public Schools will be closed today, Thursday, December 5th. Decisions regarding evening games will be made after noon today.
If you must go out today, please exercise caution as roads are slick and wind gusts are very strong.
Due to oncoming, inclement weather all evening athletic competitions today have been cancelled. Middle school cheer and all high school practices are still on.
All middle school basketball practices have been cancelled.
Watervliet Panthers' girls and boys basketball game scheduled for this evening are ON, despite the school snow day today.
Lady Panthers will play at Hartford, with the JV game scheduled for 6:00 PM and the Varsity to follow at 7:30 PM.
Panther Boys travel to Schoolcraft where the JV team will take on the Eagles at 5:30 PM and the Varsity game is scheduled for 7:00.
Come on out to cheer on our Panther basketball teams this evening!

Watervliet Public Schools has canceled all after-school activities today, Monday, December 2nd due to weather conditions. All students must leave the school campuses after school hours today.
Come on over to Watervliet High School this Friday evening for your first look at the Panther Boys Basketball teams. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults (no passes accepted). This is the boys' basketball program's only fundraiser this season, so let's show them our support. Panther middle school and high school teams will all participate; see the flyer for game times.
Due to dense fog, all Watervliet Public Schools will be on a two-hour delay.
Congratulations to the members of Treble Choir and Concert Choir! Their fall concert took place on Thursday, October 24, 2024. The theme was “Shine Like Stars” and the music performed included “Touch the Sky” from the movie Brave, (duet by Anahi Howell and Paityn Desjardin), “Where the Light Begins”, “Sure on this Shining Night”, “Sisi Ni Moja”, and the final mass choir piece, “Shine Like Stars”. It was a beautiful concert. Amazing job, choirs!
The precautionary lockdown will be lifted by the end of the school day at all buildings. Student release, bussing, and pickup will resume as normal.
All buildings in the Watervliet School District are currently in a perimeter lockdown. This lockdown is precautionary and is the result of concerning activity in another district. Learning activities will continue during the lockdown, but no one is being allowed to leave the building. There is no active threat at Watervliet Public Schools at this time.

We have been notified by Watervliet City officials that CSX Railroad will be temporarily closing the following streets in the city of Watervliet all at the same time:
Lewis Street, South Pleasant Street, Church Street, and First Street
(M 140 -- also known as North Main Street -- will be OPEN)
The street closing is scheduled from 09/23/24 to 09/27/24 but a late start or delays are possible.
