PANTHERS NEWS · AUG 24 Panther Varsity Football vs. Brandywine Now On Friday As extreme heat continues to be a factor for athletics, the Panther varsity football game vs. Brandywine is being moved to Friday, August 25 at 7:00 PM. If you have already purchased tickets, these will still be good for the game on Friday. We hope to see a big crowd on Friday evening in Panther Stadium. Come out and support Panther Athletics and our Panther Football Team. Go Panthers!

Please join us on Wednesday, August 23rd for our annual open house anytime between 4-6 PM. Students can come with or without parents to pick up a schedule, tour the building, try your locker, meet your teachers, and meet with the counselor if needed. Dinner will be served to all families. Teachers will be located in their individual classrooms. Please enter on the cafe side of the building. ChromeBooks will not be distributed at open house. You will receive your ChromeBook the first week of school. If you have any questions or concerns about the open house, please contact the high school office. We look forward to seeing all of our Panthers back in the building. Freshmen are encouraged to attend, even if they already attended freshmen orientation.

Watervliet High School's Student Council is hosting a Trunk Sale fundraiser on 8/19 in the high school parking lot from 9 - 3 pm. If you would like to be a vendor and sell items, please contact the high school office at 463-0730 to reserve a parking spot. Please come out and support our fundraiser!

Berrien Community Foundation is sponsoring their Give Back Backpack event this Thursday, August 17th, from 4-6 PM at Coloma Jr. High for our community come rain or shine!

Panthers, This is a reminder that we will have our parent/athlete meeting tonight at 6:00 in the HS gym. PLEASE plan on attending this meeting to help kick off the 2023-24 year, understand athletic expectations, and get more detailed expectations from your daughter/son sport specific team. We will also be selling family passes and game punch passes. Season passes are $ 175 for a family of four. Adult punch pass is $ 40 for 10 games, student punch passes are $ 30 for 10 games. We will be admitting middle school students into middle school games for free this year. Picture day is Friday, we will be handing our picture forms tonight as well. Due to interest expressed by some members of our community, we have re-opened the survey regarding the May 2023 school bond initiative. The survey will be open through this weekend until Monday morning, June 19.

Watervliet Public Schools would like to thank all of our community members who took time to vote in yesterday's election. While we are disappointed with the results, we understand that our community has spoken. In the coming weeks and months, we will deconstruct this effort, actively seek input from community members, and determine our next steps. While the needs still exist, we will work with interested and engaged people to do whatever we can to build on the successes of the past and a better future for WPS. This meeting includes a brief overview of the proposed projects and a tour of the facilities to actually see the proposed updates for yourself. Watervliet Public Schools is hosting the first of four Town Hall meetings to share information regarding the bond proposal tomorrow at 6:00 PM at the WHS Media Center, starting at 6:00 PM.

Due to impending inclement weather, all WPS schools will be closed on Friday, December 23rd. All evening activities are canceled for Thursday and Friday, December 22nd and 23rd.

Watervliet's High School and Middle School Bands will be preforming in the auditorium this evening at 7:00 PM. Come enjoy the music at tonight's Winter Band Concert!
