YOUR JUNIOR DECEMBER 2024 STUDENT OF THE MONTH--KENDAL KIEFER! The people in my family are very important to me. I live with my mom, dad, brother, and three four fur babies. My mom and dad are both very hardworking as well as my brother. My favorite class this year has been Ms. Irmen's Chemistry class because she is very easy to talk to and I feel she makes personal connections with her students which helps us trust her and learn from her more. Also her class is very fun and we do lots of experiments. My favorite teacher would have to be Coach Tremblay, he is a very good supporter and he is always there when I need to talk. He encourages me and pushes me to be the best version of myself. I play varsity softball and I have been since the end of my freshman year. I am a part of the Student Council. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, watching shows and movies, playing with my animals, and I like to work on hitting and fielding in softball. After High School I plan to go to Ferris State or Western Michigan to study criminology and I plan to move to a city after college and become a homicide detective. I am proud to be a Watervliet Panther because our school offers things that can help all of us in the future. I do dual enrollment, but there are many options such as Early Middle College, Dual Enrollment, and Vo Tech, and more. We also have many clubs and sports programs. Another reason I’m a proud panther is because of the family that we have in the school, we are always there for each other.

Mr. Tremblay is always encouraging us to do our best. He is a nice person and a great teacher. In the fall, I run cross country, while in the spring I run track. In my free time I listen to music, run, and play video games. After high school I would like to attend a college or trade school. It's a good class to learn about the government of your country. My favorite teacher has been Mr. Linderman. Being able to talk to him about the basketball season and be able to get the advice I need, makes me respect him and what he does. He also teaches history-- my favorite subject. I participate in 3 high school sports: football, basketball, and baseball. In my free time I like to spend time with my friends and play sports. After high school I would like to further my education at a 4 year university. Please come to the office now to pick up your candy or coupon. Only 2 weeks remain in this semester. You must have a 60% or higher in a class to pass classes. If you have less than a 60% in a class, you will have to retake the entire class in summer school or next year. We are no longer allowing any student to make up 10 or less percent to get from a 50 to a 60 percent. For your math and social studies classes you have to earn a D- or higher to pass a class. Exams are January 14-17. If you have 3 or fewer absences and a B in a class or 5 or fewer absences and an A in a class, you are not required to take the exam in that class. If you are unsure of your absences in a class, you can email Ms. Powers for that information. If you are not required to take an exam, you are not required to be in school for that hour and the absence will not count against you. At this time we ask you to stand. The privilege of this day was made possible by those who have fought and continue to fight for the freedoms that we enjoy. Let us respect and honor their efforts by standing, placing our hands on our hearts, and reciting the pledge of allegiance. If you are wearing a hat, please remove it. I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Those are all of our announcements for today. Make it a great day or not Panthers, the choice is yours!
