The WHS Chapter of the National Honor Society held a blood drive today for Versiti of Michigan which provides blood for hospitals locally and throughout the state. Students and community members turned out to donate blood. Those who donated today included students Jeff Woollett and Riley Hess and community member George Walker pictured here. National Honor Society members Abby Lomoro and Amara Olexa pictured staffing the registration table are among the many students who helped out at the drive.

Watervliet Public Schools would like to thank all of our community members who took time to vote in yesterday's election. While we are disappointed with the results, we understand that our community has spoken. In the coming weeks and months, we will deconstruct this effort, actively seek input from community members, and determine our next steps. While the needs still exist, we will work with interested and engaged people to do whatever we can to build on the successes of the past and a better future for WPS. Thanks again for being a partner in Watervliet Public Schools

Beginning Monday, May 1, the middle school Interact club is participating in the Berrien County Cancer Service Pennies for Patients Fundraiser. This fundraiser, which raises funds for people suffering from cancer to afford wheelchairs and needed supplies in Berrien County will run from May 1-May 12. There is a container for each grade in your main office and a container for the staff. The bucket with the most donated pennies, change, dollars, and checks at the end of the two weeks will be rewarded with those students or staff earning a donut breakfast party in advisory in mid May. If the building can raise at least $500 total, a rep from Berrien County will come out to receive the money and take a picture with our Interact team and the winning grade level. (or staff)
