Six Words Advanced Art Students created an assignment inspired by flash fiction, a style of literature known for its extreme brevity. Students were given the task of writing a personal reflection using just six words that connect with their lives. The words they chose ranged from immensely powerful, to clever and playful. After students chose their six words, they had to illustrate it into a cohesive piece using the text and imagery. The assignment proved to be a meaningful way for students to reflect on the complexities of their life and to create beautiful art with personal meaning.
